Winter is coming…Leeds' Chow Down launches massive festive dates for 2022

Chow Down Winter Village is back for 2022. Eight weeks of festive fun begins on 10 Nov with a wonderland of food, drink and entertainment to keep the party going right up to New Years Eve. Entry is free with tables bookable in advance. Some events will be ticketed.

As the nights draw in, what better way to spend an evening than cosying up by the fire pit in the Christmas Tipi with a boozy hot chocolate in hand. There’ll be fire pits, heaters and winter snugs to ward off the chill plus a festive bar menu including mulled wine, craft beers, mulled cider and cocktails.

The Winter Village promises a host of themed entertainment from special Drag Brunches, Bingo Lingo, Comedy nights, Christmas Dog Social, a Chow Down Quizmass (hosted by Ben Randm) and the exciting World Cup Football matches being screened. Following on from a successful launch last year, 2022 is set to be even bigger. The cosy Christmas Tipis, Winter Gardens are back along with some new additions.

Go for gold and head over to the lanes to challenge your friends and family to a game of curling or head to the Ciroc Winter Chalet for Tipple cocktails against a backdrop of Alpine cosiness. Brand new for 2022 is the Hutte Bavarian Beer Hall – the perfect place for a stein which will also play host to the FIFA World Cup Screenings.

The brand new bavarian beer hall will play host to the football screenings, showing all England and Wales games in action then every game from the Quarter final onwards. Expect Huge screen and sound system, steins and beer selection, street food, heaters, table service and pre-match anthems.

Over the eight weeks, Winter Village will welcome headline DJs Fat Tony, Norman Jay MBE, The Cuban Brothers and DJ Spoony.

In the Food Village, guests will find a tasty combination of resident kitchens, rotating traders and open fire cooking. On the menu in our resident kitchens, expect culinary winter delights from Bastard Bistros and The Middle Feast with warming desserts from Savvy Baker.

More winter food will come from a rotating selection of food traders Bento Box, Heffe Mojo, Mans Market, Tikka Chance on Me, Little Red Food Cluck! Oi Dumplings, Sabroso Street, Meat Stack, Eat Like a Greek, Nikos Comfort Food, Korean Grub Club, Hoi Polloi Street Kitchen, Igloo Pizza and Luigi Street Food. The tastiest line-up ever.

Bookings open October 4th at 9am – https://www.chowdownevents.co.uk/

Lucy Renshaw, Strategic Marketing Manager at CEG says:

“Chow Down has proved a huge success, becoming a fantastic leisure destination in Leeds City Centre. As well as creating local jobs, it has helped to breathe life into our Temple district. The Winter Village is set to attract local residents, businesses and neighbouring communities and we look forward to welcoming the events to Temple Arches.”

One of the Founders of Chow Down, Stu Butterworth says:

“After a hugely successful debut Winter Village last year, we’re back for 2022 with a revamped venue full of exciting changes. After consumer feedback and the ongoing cost of living crisis, entry will now be free for the vast majority of our 8 week run, with events such as drag brunch, our World Cup screenings and headline DJs such as Norman Jay still ticketed.

We’re once again super excited to bring an array of incredible festive food, drinks and entertainment to the centre of Leeds this Christmas and we’re looking forward to getting festive with everyone from November onwards”
