Disney princesses at Runcorn Comic Con

Runcorn Shopping City held its ‘Comic Con’ at the centre last weekend and are delighted to share it was a phenomenal success. They received over 16,800 visitors to the two-day event where people were able to come along and enjoy comic book inspired fun.

Over 23 and 24 September adults and children alike were invited to dress up and grab selfies with movie memorabilia and Disney princesses. There were live performances, games and cosplay displays plus much more for visitors to immerse themselves in a world of fantasy and fiction.

Dave Pearman, Shopping Centre Manager at Runcorn Shopping City, said:

“What an incredible turnout we had to Runcorn Comic Con!

“The collective efforts of Shopping City’s team meant the last six months of hard work really paid off with such a popular and successful event to show for it.

“As shopping centres continue to have their challenges through difficult times, we’re proud to be able to deliver events and experiences that people can look forward to, enjoy, and provide free entry making them accessible to any family budget.

“Whilst the high street and town centres are taking their fair share of knocks at the moment, such as the recent wilko chain closures, we endeavour to keep things as positive as possible during difficult times. So many new ideas are coming to life at the centre, driving footfall, increasing community engagement and building towards the future.

“Next up for us; introducing a new soft play area to the centre and building on our Halloween and Christmas plans. It’s a busy time, but when we see how much demand there is for our family events and how well they are received – it makes it all worthwhile.”
