Danish Homewares Store, Søstrene Grene, officially opens in Manchester City Centre

Danish homewares brand, Søstrene Grene, opened its doors to a queue of eager customers at its new store in Manchester on Friday 11th October. This is the brands fourth British store to open in the last 4 years and is situated in one of the most iconic, grade II listed buildings in the city, The Royal Exchange.

The highly-anticipated opening saw a number of enthusiastic customers queuing outside the store on Friday 11th October, with the first 144 customers through the door receiving one of Søstrene Grene’s signature ‘Bow chairs’. The store welcomed over 10,000 customers in the first 5 days of opening, the highest number a UK store has seen.

Jonathan Cooper, joint venture partner for the Manchester store, comments: “We have received an amazing response to the introduction of Søstrene Grene in Manchester. We experienced huge success with the launch of our Nottingham, Chester and Altrincham stores and opening a store in Manchester was a natural progression from this. With the city centre location, the site is right at the heart of the action and it’s the perfect fit for Søstrene Grene.”

To unveil its Manchester store, Søstrene Grene held an exclusive launch party on Thursday 10th October a day ahead of its grand opening. VIP guests enjoyed drinks and live music whilst being given exclusive access to the entire store, exploring everything from the quirky kitchen accessories and sumptuous soft furnishings to crafts and stylish ceramics.

Every Søstrene Grene store, including Manchester’s, is designed to give customers a break from their busy everyday lives as they search the shelves for exciting products. The layouts are like labyrinths and the colourful collections are neatly displayed in wooden crates under a relaxed, subdued lighting.

Specialising in home accessories, kitchenware, gift wrap, DIY products, stationery and small furniture items, Søstrene Grene’s product selection is ever-changing, giving customers a new experience with every visit. Prices range from 10p to £60, with the brand representing a Scandinavian design aesthetic with a multitude of products for decorating the home, while always keeping the prices affordable.
