Crime-time: Murder mystery night at Kirkley Hall

Kirkley Hall, the chilling setting for "Spotlight on Murder".

If detectives were to ask you the question “where were you on the night of Saturday 30 March?” You could confidently reply “…at Kirkley Hall in Northumberland enjoying Spotlight on Murder.”

People can dust off their spyglass and become super sleuths for the night by helping local bobby ‘Detective Downright’ and host ‘Bette Graves’ solve a chilling murder as Kirkley Hall is transformed into a mysterious crime scene.

Picture the setting, excitement builds at the annual awards ceremony for the prestigious theatrical troupe, the Kirkley Repertoire of Actors and Performers. But behind the scenes all is not well, as when the curtain rises the audience get more than they bargained for.

“Actors are sometimes known to die on stage but with Spotlight on Murder this time round it’s for real!” said Keir Waugh, Events and Operations Manager at Kirkley Hall.

Keir added: “This is the third time we’ve welcomed back the team behind our popular murder mystery evenings, which are going down a storm! It’s clever how they use the stunning building as their theatrical backdrop and conjure up a wealth of thrills and spills. The audience ranges from couples through to groups – who all have a great time.

“It would be criminal to miss out as you never know, you could be the next Vera or Sherlock Holmes.”

The audience can be as hands-on or observational as they wish. To book a place simply call Kirkley Hall on (01670) 841 230 and not only do you get to help solve a murder, you also get a three-course meal for your £29.50.
