With the UK set for record temperatures, Trattoria 51 is celebrating the launch of its latest menu, offering a true Italian culinary experience in the heart of the North West.

The popular Italian eatery has welcomed a range of new dishes that boast bright colours and vibrant flavours, giving diners a taste of summer whatever the weather.

With al fresco dining areas at both the Southport Promenade and Old Hall Street restaurants, Trattoria 51 is ready to embrace the warmer weather, even if it means enduring the occasional summer shower.

General Manager and Co-Owner Toni Karemanaj said: “Here in the North West it can be hard to rely on the weather forecast but with this delicious menu, we can guarantee our customers some sunshine on the plate if not in the sky.

“In Italian to eat ‘al fresco’ actually means to eat ‘in the cool’ but here we take our meals outdoors to enjoy the heat and the sunshine while it lasts. In Italy the umbrellas you see outside restaurants are there to provide shade – outside Trattoria 51 they might also provide shelter from the rain – but whatever weather comes our way, we’re ready and we hope the new menu will provide diners with a true taste of Italian summers.”

Dishes include the 51 Ceviche served with King Prawn and Salmon, Cherry Tomato, Chili, Shallots, Red and Yellow Peppers, Coriander and Homemade Leche de Tigre. Pasta lovers will enjoy Trattoria 51’s twist on a classic with the Pappardelle Chicken Bolognese, which is already proving to be a best-seller, whilst traditionalists can rely on the or Crab Ravioli or Orecchiette Cozze with Mussels, White Wine, Crème Fraiche and a fragrant Zest of Lime.

Toni added: “Our eating habits change in the summer; we want more refreshing flavours and lighter bites. With this in mind we’re introducing the likes of Risotto Gamberi, Spicy Chicken Wings and a refreshing Quinoa Salad.

“For those who still want a meaty main dish, there’s a Roasted Half Chicken served with either a Rich Jus or a Hot Chilli Diavola Sauce. With schools across the region now on their summer holidays, these dishes are perfect to enjoy as part of a day out in Liverpool or Southport and are equally as fantastic when paired with one of our signature cocktails or a classic Italian wine.”
