it comes to summer days, making memories and enjoying new experiences together are priceless moments to be treasured.

Imagine yourself kicking back on a lazy summer’s evening enjoying lovely food and drink in beautiful surroundings with live music wafting through the trees.

That’s all within reach thanks to the vision behind a brand new festival coming to Lancashire this summer.

Samlesbury Hall is launching an inaugural summer festival in July aimed at people of all ages who enjoy quality, laid-back leisure time in idyllic surroundings.

With it’s charming, chic, Shepherd’s Huts, Samlesbury Hall is the ideal weekend getaway with plenty for couples, or families, to enjoy.

And at this year’s first ever summer festival which starts on Friday, July 12th, there’s a host of entertainment to get your weekend off to the perfect start.

What better way to spend your Friday evening than enjoying a wood-fired pizza made in a special pizza oven in an Italian-style courtyard with a glass of Prosecco or Peroni? Pure bliss.

For the kids, as well as pizza and soft drinks, there’s toasted marshmallows and the chance to listen to acclaimed storyteller Joanne Halliwell enchanting visitors with her tales as the hugely popular Janie The Witch.

If you love to let your imagination wander to the unexplained, as darkness falls there’s also a special Ghost Trail at the hall between 10pm-11pm. Prepare to be spooked.

Once you’ve enjoyed all that Friday evening entertainment and after a night under the stars in a cosy Shepherd’s Hut, you might fancy a slow and relaxing start to your Saturday morning.

And Samlesbury Hall has that perfectly catered for with a lazy breakfast from 8am-11am. The much-acclaimed Wafflery will also be open for guests to enjoy its delicious delights.

Fuelled by the finest breakfast, when you’re finally ready for something more energetic there’s a range of activities for all the family. Children’s yoga, face-painting, an Alpaca walk, Treasure Hunt, Bee Walk at the venue’s Bee Centre, and fun and games on the lawn, ranging from Jenga to a limbo challenge, are all laid on for your pleasure.

To add to the atmosphere the sounds from an historic Dutch street barrel organ will ensure a laid-back, summer vibe continues throughout the day.

On Saturday evening the musical entertainment switches to live bands, but still with a relaxed theme, with folk and an open mic on the tennis lawn.

A hog roast – with alternatives for vegetarians – plus Samlesbury Hall’s renowned ice cream ensure there’s always lots of scrummy food on offer. The bar will also be open all day.

For adults there’s also the opportunity to sit back, relax, and soak in the summer atmosphere enjoying a glass of the hall’s award-winning Cuckoo Gin.

It all adds up to a perfect way to spend a summer weekend.

And at the advance prices just released by Samlesbury Hall it makes it a no-brainer to book early – and there’s the added feel-good factor of knowing that all profits are ploughed back into the charitable trust which runs the hall and makes sure it is here for future generations to enjoy.

For just £149 four people can enjoy a two-night stay on Friday July 12 and Saturday July 13 in a Shepherd’s Hut at Samlesbury Hall and enjoy all the summer festival entertainment. To stay for one night it’s £99.

For those who want to enjoy the entertainment without staying on site, the day price on either Friday or Saturday is £15 per adult and £7.50 for children aged 12 and under. A child goes free with each paying adult, which means a family of four with young children pay just £30.
