Bold Street has welcomed new juice bar and eatery Orgânico, one of the city’s few emerging hospitality ventures to launch during the pandemic.

The challenges facing the city’s food and drink sector as a result of Covid-19 haven’t deterred restaurateurs Otto Mellouki and Amine El Gueddar from pursuing their dream of opening the inclusive plant-based and vegetarian daytime dining spot in Liverpool.

It will serve breakfast, brunch, lunch and an early evening menu alongside fresh counter produce including vegan cakes and grab & go options such as wraps and salads seven days a week.

Co-founder of Orgânico Otto Mellouki said: “Everything on the menu uses raw and organic produce sourced locally for added freshness. We enlisted the help of celebrity chef Sean Paul Redding to devise a variety of dishes that cater for all tastes while being completely meat-free. Together with Sean Paul, we want to demonstrate that eating plant-based and vegetarian diets doesn’t mean that meals have to be boring. We’re especially excited about our breakfast menu that offers so much choice – both sweet and savoury – for our vegan community. The entire Orgânico concept is designed to give people an unrivalled selection of food options without compromising on flavour, since plant-based alternatives are still incredibly limited across the region. It’s our goal to change that.

“I have been juicing and eating a vegan diet myself over the last six months and can honestly say that it has made a huge difference when it comes to the way I feel. In these difficult times, we hope that Orgânico will help to lift people’s moods with good food, good coffee and an all-round positive vibe – that’s something I’m really passionate about.

“We began our journey with Orgânico back in the summer and despite the obstacles due to Covid-19, we were determined to open and show the region just how resilient we are along with the rest of the hospitality scene in Liverpool. As restaurant owners already, we know first-hand how hard it’s been for businesses these last few months and now with added restrictions in the Merseyside area, we must remain focused and vigilant. Having said that, we are confident in our team and have put steps in place to ensure that we can still give customers the experience they deserve while keeping them and our staff safe.”

As part of its highly anticipated breakfast offering, diners can expect a host of vegetarian and vegan options with a menu that will rotate on a regular basis based on fresh and seasonal produce. Alongside its food provisions, the juice bar and eatery will also be serving a range of hot drinks and juices, all freshly blended using organic fruits, vegetables, and spices such as turmeric that have health boosting properties.

Co-founder of Orgânico Amine El Gueddar said: “At a time when people’s livelihoods have been impacted, we are incredibly proud to have been able to create new jobs within hospitality and as part of our recent recruitment drive we have now hired twelve members of staff to our growing team in roles including front of house, baristas and chefs.

“Our assortment of counter food means that people can pick up something delicious and healthy while they’re on the go and for those opting to dine in, we will have full table service in line with government advice. We’ve worked hard to make sure Orgânico is Covid-safe having partnered with Foursquare Group, and so our staff will be wearing PPE, hand sanitizer will be available and we ask that people only visit within their household groups and check in for Track and Trace. Despite the limitations, we are delighted to have opened our doors in what is an unprecedented time for all of us.”

Orgânico will be open every day Monday to Sunday from breakfast through to early evening.
