On Wednesday, 23rd October, Honest Burgers on Bold Street in Liverpool will be holding an Honesty Box Day between 11.30am and 4.30pm, inviting customers to pay what they feel their meal is worth, with 100% of the proceeds donated between three local charities.

The three charities, as voted for by Honest Burgers’ customers, are Sunflowers, The Whitechapel Centre and Zoë’s Place Liverpool. When dining, customers simply stick a sticker on the donations board next to the charity they wish their donation to go to and the proceeds are split accordingly.

Customers can choose any items from the menu, including the Liverpool special, which sees a combination of Honest beef, (from their own butchery), British halloumi (from award-winning Kupros Dairy), salt & pepper, spring onion, sriracha mayo and lettuce. All burgers come with homemade rosemary salted chips.

Tom Barton, co-founder of Honest Burgers, said: “The idea for our Honesty Box Day came from seeing an honesty box in a little coastal town in Wales, which donated all the proceeds to the community. That started the wheels turning and got us thinking about how we could do something good for the local community when we open a new restaurant. So please do turn up, tuck in and dig deep for three very worthy causes.”
