Film and TV experts to share industry knowledge at Leeds workshops

If you were inspired by Olivia Colman’s Oscar acceptance speech and looking to pursue a career in film and TV or take your acting journey to the next level, nailing the audition process is going to play a big part.

Coming to Leeds are three industry stalwarts who will be hosting exclusive casting workshops sharing their top tips, advice and insight into the acting industry, at the Yorkshire Academy of Film and Television Acting (YAFTA) throughout the year, with the first one being held in April.

Ian Bevitt is a renowned TV Director for Coronation Street and Emmerdale, and he brings his knowledge and expertise to a special casting workshop aimed at those with some acting experience.

  • 27th April and 10th November

Joanne Moss is one of Ian’s colleagues, as Casting Associate at Coronation Street and she will be hosting an interactive workshop perfect for those who are looking to gain a greater understanding of the audition process and how to impress the casting director.

  • 23rd June and 21st September

Leeds born casting guru, Sonia Allam who has cast for the likes of drama Marcella and Liar, is known for her invaluable, fun workshops which aim to help actors with little experience, to seasoned pros get the most out of their next audition.

  • 2nd June and 9th October
