Banyan Bar & Kitchen is set to open in central Newcastle, following an extensive £1.5m refurbishment of the former Jamie’s Italian.

Launching on 30th March 2019, the stylish bar and eatery will span over 5000 sq. ft. across two floors and create 70 full and part-time jobs.

Part of the Arc Inspirations group, Banyan Newcastle will join the likes of Leeds, Manchester and York, becoming the ninth Banyan Bar & Kitchen to open in the North of England. Banyan Bar & Kitchen is one of the groups three core brands which include Manahatta and The Box.

Offering a chic and stylish setting, Banyan Bar & Kitchen will be serving up everything from twisted classics to stylish new favourites with their 30 signature cocktails. The menu boasts the beautiful Pornstar Martini, Espresso Martini and Gin and Tonic trees alongside an impressive selection of local beers and gins including offerings from Wylam Brewery and Hepple gin, as well as an extensive array of coffees and non-alcoholic options.

The dining menu will offer delicious brunch, lunch and dinner options including its famous breakfast energiser and healthy powerbowls alongside indulgent options such as the chateaubriand and locally caught fish of the day. Banyan Bar & Kitchen is the perfect place for special occasions with a stunning private dining room ideal for hosting private parties, meetings and events.

Speaking of the launch, Martin Wolstencroft, chief executive of Arc Inspirations commented: “We’re really excited to launch our first site in the heart of Newcastle. It’s a dynamic city with a diverse food and drink offering and we feel Banyan Bar & Kitchen brings a sophisticated and lively atmosphere to complement Newcastle’s existing scene.

“Banyan Newcastle will be the 19th venue in our portfolio. We’re building on our experience and expertise to bring a setting which meets the needs of locals throughout the day – from a pre-shopping brunch, to business lunches through to afterwork and late night weekend drinks.”

Banyan Bar & Kitchen asserts itself at the forefront of Newcastle’s bar and restaurant scene after putting down roots in the enviable location on Blackett Street, opposite Grey’s Monument.

Following the successful openings of Arc Inspiration brands in neighbouring northern cities, the organisation is already exploring other sites to bring its bars, Manahatta and The Box, to Newcastle.

Banyan Bar & Kitchen will open to the public on 30th March from 10am – 12am Monday to Friday, 10am – 12:30am Saturday and Sunday.
