Stalwart of the small screen set to feature in ITV’s latest Lakes based drama

The Lake District’s Holbeck Ghyll, no stranger to the small screen, is set to feature in ITV’s latest TV drama Deep Water.

The hotel, overlooking the shores of Windermere, is set to feature in episode two of the gripping and emotional Lakes based drama, which will be broadcast this Wednesday, 21st August, at 9pm on ITV.

Shot last September, the iconic country house hotel’s glorious location, arts and crafts interiors and renowned Oak Dining room feature in several key scenes in the unfolding six-part series.

Written by BAFTA-nominated Anna Symon and adapted from the Windermere novels by critically acclaimed author, Paula Daly, the series stars Anna Friel, Sinead Keenan and Rosalind Eleazar; who portray the lives of three complex and vibrant women, each struggling to keep their heads above very deep water…

Like all of us, they seek to do their best for their families, but face tough choices with difficult, and often messy repercussions. Connected by the school gates, with children of the same age, they include Lisa, a mum-of-three who runs a business and is married to a taxi driver, Roz, a physiotherapist snowed under by debt and Kate, a wealthy and organised mum who seems to have it all…

Holbeck Ghyll’s General Manager, Elia Shreiber commented: “Holbeck provides a versatile location for both TV and film crews, with iconic views, authentic period interiors, and flexible outdoor spaces with woodland, meadows, formal gardens and tumbling Lakeland streams it’s the perfect place to film. We were thrilled when team behind Deep Water approached us and are really happy to play our small part in helping to showcase the beauty and diversity of the Lake District to as wide an audience as possible.’’
