A UNIQUE supporters organisation is getting ready to wave the flag, at an exciting fund-raising event at St. James’ STACK.
Wor Flags was set up to create memorable displays of flags at the home of NUFC, along with uniting fans to build an unforgettable atmosphere at their home ground. And now to help the organisation – which is run completely by volunteers – continue on its mission, it has teamed up with St. James’ STACK for a special event on Sunday 4 October.
The fund raiser – which begins at noon -will include live music, flag waving, surprise guests and a football quiz hosted by the BBC’s Matthew Bailey. There will be a raffle, a live auction with the opportunity to bid on signed NUFC memorabilia, with all the proceeds going to support Wor Flags. Tickets can be purchased at https://buytickets.at/stjamesstack/2350400 and are £11 for adults, £5.75 for children aged between three and 16, with a family ticket for two adults and two children available for £25.
“Everything Wor Flags does is made possible by the incredible support of Newcastle United fans,” said Claire James of Wor Flags. “The displays at St. James’ Park are created by the fans, for the fans, and our aim is always to help make matchdays special. “This fundraiser is a fantastic opportunity for supporters to come together, have a great day, enjoy some brilliant entertainment and, most importantly, help us continue creating the displays that bring passion to St. James’ Park. “As we celebrate our 10-year anniversary, we’d love to meet as many people as possible and celebrate this milestone with the people who make Wor Flags what it is.”
Chelsea Morton, Marketing Manager for sports and events at STACK said the venue was honoured to host Wor Flags’ annual fund raising event. “The fact that both Wor Flags and ourselves are so closely associated with NUFC means that we are the perfect venue to host this important event,” she said. “Wor Flags does such an amazing job in uniting fans and showing how proud the city is of its team and its long football legacy. “We hope people will turn out in force and ensure they raise a huge amount of money.”
