THE ULTIMATE celebration of beer, bratwurst and all things Bavarian heads to Doncaster Racecourse this autumn, with the return of Oktoberfest.
Following on from the success of a similar event last year, organiser EVNT Live is bringing back a two day event which will replicate one of the most iconic events in the world. The racecourse will be transformed to host a party like no other, with live Oompah bands – complete with traditional hats and lederhosen – to the very best in German street food. Giant steins will allow guests to enjoy a range of beers – along with a full range of spirits and cocktails – and carry out some glass clinking, raising them in time with the music in the best Oktoberfest tradition. The room will be decorated in authentic Oktoberfest style, with long tables and blue and white checked cloths, from where guests can also tuck into traditional dishes including bratwurst, currywurst and cocktails.
Tickets are now on sale for the events, which will run on October 2 and 3 and start at just £18 each. The 2 October celebration runs from 7pm until midnight, with two sessions taking place the following day. Those who don’t want a late evening can enjoy the afternoon event which runs from 1pm to 6pm on Saturday 3 October, with the night time Oktoberfest taking place from 7pm until midnight.
Mike Hesketh, from organisers EVNT Live, said this time round Oktoberfest would be even bigger and better. “We had a fantastic time at Doncaster Racecourse last year so it wasn’t much of a stretch for us to decide to do it again,” he said. “We’re upping the ante and we’re going to have even more fun this time round and we’re looking forward to bringing the spirit of Oktoberfest back to Doncaster.”
