Coral Island, home of the famous Kids Eat Free offer, has opened its kitchen doors to share the local stories behind its produce and shine a light on the partnerships it shares with local butchers, potato merchants and fishmongers.

Choice Meats on Dickson Road, Jenkinson’s Potato Company in Pilling, and King Neptune’s Fish Company in Fleetwood have supplied quality produce to Coral Island for more than 50 years collectively, underpinning the venue’s commitment to serving fresh, locally sourced ingredients across its five eateries.

From the Buccaneer to the Promenade Chippy, produce is sourced from Blackpool and Lancashire based suppliers and delivered daily; dishes are prepared from scratch on-site, ensuring consistently high quality and an exceptional taste.

Choice Meats was initially established to serve the local community, when it identified an opportunity to supply nearby hotels and restaurants. Expanding from 1996 onwards, Choice now has its own cutting plant located on Poulton Business Park which enables it to be fully independent, supplying Coral Island with everything from Captain Jack’s secret-recipe burgers, to the side of beef from the famous Buccaneer carvery.

Based in Pilling, Jenkinson’s Potato Company has built a reputation for supplying high-quality ‘chipping’ potatoes, and freshly prepared chips to the catering and wholesale trade across the Fylde Coast. Jenkinson’s operate from the family’s historic base on Bradshaw Lane, benefiting from the rich soil of the Lancashire mossland. This makes it less than an hour’s journey to Coral’s kitchens, where potatoes are rumbled, chipped, and fried on site.
King Neptune’s Fish Company is the trusted supplier behind the award-winning fish and chips served at the seafront venue. Operating from Fleetwood docks, Neptune’s delivers fish directly to the kitchen, where it is prepared on site – battered, cooked, and served to customers across several Coral Island’s restaurants, ensuring freshness, quality, and an authentic seaside flavour.

Mark Fox, Food and Beverage Director commented: “Across all five of our eateries at Coral Island we have a commitment to quality local ingredients, bringing our customers closer to the origin of every plate. We’re proud to work with Fylde Coast suppliers such as Choice Meats, Jenkinson’s and King Neptune’s, which share our dedication to high-quality produce, with food that is always fresh and never frozen, and reliable, responsible sourcing. Thanks to the strong relationships we’ve built with our suppliers, alongside our buying power, we’re able to keep our costs down and pass real value back to our customers. These partnerships are central to what we do, and we look forward to continuing them for many years to come.”
