The National Science and Media Museum has added a significant collection of magic lantern slides, formerly from the lending library of Bradford's Riley Brothers, to its holdings. Comprising 182 sets with over 2600 individual slides, the collection showcases local people and cityscapes from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, offering a visual narrative of Bradford's heritage. These magic lantern slides, an early form of projector technology, are being meticulously documented, conserved, and digitized to make them accessible to a wider audience, further enriching the museum's extensive collection of magic lanterns and related artifacts.
