A free festival is taking place this Saturday (14th May) to bring Manchester’s dog lovers together.

The Ex-Paw Extravaganza event will be hosted in Angel Meadow Park from 11am – 4pm, with an exclusive and refreshing doggy beer on offer, specifically for the festival, that will be sold by Irk Street-based Blackjack Brewery. The brewery will also be offering a range of beers, larger and pale ales for everyone to enjoy.

A range of other activities will also be available for dogs to get their paws stuck into, including a doggy ball pit, a paddling pool and a puppy play area.

Visitors can browse an array of pop-up stalls from some of Manchester’s best dog businesses, including All you need is Woof, Dog Cake Co, Woofly and KUB dogwear, and enjoy food and drinks from The Momo Boii, WWW Pizza and the Little Leopard Coffee Co.

Proud dog parents can listen to a variety of talks hosted by experts such as the Guide Dogs North WestHolly Dwyer Pet Photography and A Dogs Way Training, to get tips on behaviour and training as well as taking the best photographs of your pets.

The event was arranged by Far East Consortium, the developers behind MeadowSide – a development of more than 750 one, two and three-bedroom pet-friendly apartments, townhouses and penthouses overlooking Angel Meadow Park, the city centre’s largest green space.

Earlier this year, FEC launched the city’s first free doggy daycare service. Homeowners at Mount Yard, The Gate and The Stile can book up to four walks a week through the apartment’s concierge service, with a dedicated dog walker picking up and dropping off dogs without the need for owners to be in.

Andrew Bradley-Nixon, sales and marketing director at FEC, said: “Events like Ex-Paw are a great way to bring the community together. The festival gives everyone a chance to bond over something we all love – our dogs – over a drink.”

“Angel Meadow Park is Manchester city centre’s largest green space, but lots of people simply don’t know it exists. Our Ex-paw festival is just the start of the many events we have planned this year!”
