Summer Italian nights launched to boost historic home's charity coffers

A historic home is launching food-themed evenings in a bid to boost its charity coffers.

Samlesbury Hall in Lancashire is starting pizza nights every Thursday evening in the school holidays.

All profits will be ploughed back into the charitable trust which runs the hall and makes sure it is here for future generations to enjoy.

The first event will take place when kids are on school holidays in the summer half-term break on May 30.

Pizzas cooked in Samlesbury Hall’s wood-fired pizza oven will be served in the venue’s Italian courtyard between 5pm-7.30pm.

The pizza evenings will then return for the summer school holidays on July 25 and will be repeated every Thursday throughout August.

Samlesbury Hall’s ever-popular Wafflery will also be open during the pizza evenings with a range of waffles and ice creams on the menu.

Sharon Jones, director of Samlesbury Hall said: “What could be a better way of spending a summer evening in the school holidays than enjoying a wood-fired pizza in the lovely surroundings of the Italian courtyard with adults also enjoying a glass of Prosecco or Peroni?”

Pizza with a Prosecco or a Peroni will be only £10 for adults for the special themed evenings; children can enjoy pizza and a soft drink for just £6.

Adults can also sit back, soak in the beautiful surroundings, and enjoy a glass of Samlesbury Hall’s famous award-winning Cuckoo Gin.

And you can make your visit an even more memorable adventure by staying overnight in one of Samlesbury Hall’s amazing Shepherd’s Huts.
