A popular Salford gin distillery has created a limited edition 500 bottle Pride-themed gin which is hitting bars and pubs this week.

Sis4ers Distillery has created a Passion Fruit and Ginger gin to celebrate Pride. The speciality gin fuses together fruit and ginger flavours creating a gin with a mix of sweet and spicy tastes.

Proceeds from the first 150 bottles will go to Salford Pride. The gin follows in the footsteps of a Pride-edition beer made by Seven Bro7hers Brewery. Both businesses are run by the 11 siblings from the McAvoy family.

Lucy McAvoy, director of Sis4ers Distillery, said: “Pride and the celebrations around it is something that is close to our hearts as a family. Both of our businesses have created products in celebration of Pride which represent key values within our businesses and within our family, and we are excited to share our new gin in the months ahead.”

The gin is currently being sold in bars and pubs across Manchester and will feature during the Pink Picnic at Salford’s Pride event this coming June.

The gin has received the endorsement of Carl Austin-Behan, LGBT Advisor to The Mayor of Greater Manchester.

Carl said: “It was a pleasure meeting Lucy from Sis4ers Distillery and great to hear the personal story regarding the business. As a family who were born and raised in Salford, they are fully committed to supporting organisations and charities within their local area. It’s wonderful to know that they will be supporting Salford Pride and other Pride events with their special edition Pride Gin with a percentage going to an LGBT Charity showing their commitment to diversity, equality and inclusion – #Gin4All.”

Sis4ers Distillery are in conversations with Carl about donating proceeds from sales of the other 350 bottles to another LGBT charity focusing around our young and the next generation.
