Leeds’s innovative day-to-night café-bar, iroko will introduce 2019’s hottest food trend, Yakitori to the city’s foodies at an exciting evening event on 11th July 2019.

iroko is offering guests the opportunity to try authentic Japanese-inspired food and drinks, served in two sittings, at 6.30pm and 8.30pm. The Yakitori menu will feature delicious BBQ skewered chicken, tempura vegetables and tasty Asian beverages including Nikka whisky and Asahi beer.

iroko is a family-owned business which runs other popular Leeds bars, Rolands and The Domino Club. The venue is well known for its unique monthly events and inventive day-to-night moving back-bar, transforming the venue from a daytime coffee shop to a fully stocked bar at night.

Yakitori evenings at iroko are held twice a month, with tickets costing £20 which can be purchased via the website. Other iroko events include whisky blending and gin infusion workshops, wine and food pairings and many more.

iroko is keen to be at the forefront of new food and drink trends, with Yakitori being hailed the next big thing for 2019. Yakitori itself refers to small, elegant skewers of chicken, cooked over charcoal on street-side grills. The mouth-watering dish is basted with delicious tare, a sauce made with soy, sugar, mirin, sake and garlic.

Alexander Neil, co-director at iroko said;
